Aft To Bow Marine Surveys

Independent, Qualified, Professional

About Aft To Bow Marine Surveys

Our mission at Aft To Bow Marine Surveys is simple: to provide high-quality services for our valued clients.

Having owned, worked, bought and sold many vessels over the last 30 years and with more people asking me to take a look before they purchase.

I decided to do it the right way and get a professional qualification. After sourcing the most revered organisation, I achieved a diploma in yacht and small craft surveying with The International Institute of Marine Surveying.

I will go above and beyond to cater to each project’s specific needs. Through open communication and exceptional service, I'm what you’re looking for in your Surveyor. For more information or general inquiries, get in touch today.

Buying a new or used narrowboat, or a wide-beam boat as your home or cruising and exploring Britain’s beautiful rivers or canals are In most cases, considered the second most expensive purchase you will ever make, so try not to rush the process.

The aim of hiring a surveyor is to obtain an independent professional assessment of the boat and help the sale complete smoothly, limiting any nasty finds after completion.

It’s important to be aware that everyone involved in the deal will be eager for the sale to go through: The buyer, the seller and/or the broker are all interested in getting the sale finalised. If you live a substantial distance and have to do a lot of travelling, you may be tempted to accept the seller or their agent at their word and they could without knowingly be selling you trouble.
